Non-Fiction Friday is a link-up where you can find all of the awesome non-fiction happenings of the week. Be sure to link-up your non-fiction posts too!
Non-Fiction News and Resources
- there were a couple of non-fiction awards this week, including the NCTE Orbis Pictus Award for Outstanding Nonfiction for Children and the YALSA Award for Excellence in Nonfiction for Young Adults
- I just found this fascinating blog which includes synopses of new non-fiction as well as podcasts discussing some great non-fiction books. I can’t wait to explore this site a bit more!
- The Politico Bookshelf blog has a Nonfiction News feature that also seems like a great way to stay up-to-date with the world of non-fiction
- On that note, here are some of the books I’m excited to see published in the next week:
- On The Road (I love Top Gear, so I was excited to see this autobiography by Richard Hammond)
- I Forgot To Remember: A Memoir of Amnesia
- Wizards, Aliens, and Starships: Physics and Math in Fantasy and Science Fiction
- Broken Nation: Australians in the Great War
- Historic Streets & Squares: The Secrets On Your Doorstep
What what, Wizards, Aliens, and Starships looks awesome! It’s like Mythbusters but cooler, haha.

I thought this one looked particularly awesome too! I love non-fiction, but sci-fi and fantasy were my first reading love so it’s great to see a book that appeals to both of those interests

This is always a very dangerous weekly post for me. I already added 3 books to my ever growing tbr-pile, and I haven’t even checked out the linked up posts yet…

I always grow my TBR list when I’m putting it together I’ve gotten myself a bit over-scheduled with fiction posts this past month so I’m excited to make more time for exciting new non-fiction in February!

There’s a new book out, either last week or this week i think, called The Answer to the Riddle is Me. It is also about amnesia. I can’t read it. The writer’s amnesia is caused by an anti-malarial drug he was taking while in India. It’s ringing so many of my bells.

I actually just picked up a copy of The Answer to the Riddle is Me at ALA. I am a little concerned it will be too dark for me, but I’m going to give it a try.

Seriously, this always makes me want to read more nonfiction so I have something to add to the list!!!
Thank you for linking up to the Spread the Love Linky Party! Even though it’s my last week of hosting, April @ The Steadfast Reader will be taking over, which is super exciting! More info to come. . .

Thanks for hosting Rebecca! I’m glad you found someone else to carry the torch now that you’re done
An autobiography by Richard Hammond! I am not exaggerating when I say that I’m in full fangirl mode. I love Top Gear!
An Wizards, Aliens, and Starships sounds extremely well, like the kind of discussions I end up having with my friends about sci-fi.
NFF is becoming a dangerous feature to read

I love Top Gear too! I don’t even especially care about cars, they’re just so funny. And Wizards, Aliens, and Starships could be similar to some of the discussions my friends have too. I’m glad you’re finding some books you like in these posts
