One Lovely Blog Award

onelovelyblog

Today I’d like to thank Sophie at Paper Breathers for nominating me for the One Lovely Blog Award. I’ve really enjoyed interacting with Sophie who is a fellow grad student and fellow eclectic reader, so it meant a lot that she thought of me for this award. Here are the rules for this award:

If you have been nominated for the One Lovely Blog Award and you choose to accept it, write a blog post about the One Lovely Blog Award in which you:

  1. Thank the one that nominated you.
  2. Put up the picture for the One Lovely Blog Award.
  3. Tell everyone seven things about yourself.
  4. Nominate seven other people and tell them that you’ve nominated them.

Awesome Bloggers I’m Nominating

  1. Katie @ Words For Worms - She reads a lot of great books, including southern fiction and historical fiction, and has a great sense of humor
  2. Cindie @ Nonfictionado - I love her thoughtful reviews and, of course, her focus on non-fiction
  3. Kelly, Asti, and Leanne @ Oh, The Books! – These girls are all awesome and I’m sure I’m going to love their new joint blog
  4. Nikki @ The Paper Sea - She just has such a way with words and when she reviews books I’ve read, I’m blown away by how well she describes them
  5. Andi @ Estella’s Revenge - She reviews awesome literary fiction, hosts fun events, and is a super nice person. Plus she’s been blogging for 9 years, so she gives great advice
  6. Cayce @ Fighting Dreamer - I love that her blog has such a distinct focus on LGBT books. She and her blog both have a lot of character :)
  7. Christine @ Buckling Bookshelves - She’s always reading something awesome from many different genres and she writes some great discussions too

Seven Things About Me

  1. I love doing yoga and jazzercise in classes on campus.
  2. I’ve been watching reality shows lately… I know, I’m horrified too!
  3. To regain brain cells after those shows, I’m also reading lots of great non-fiction about physics lately.
  4. I’m starting to really love Literally and can’t wait to see how the site develops.
  5. I just joined a book club and I think it’s awesome!
  6. In May I’ll be finished my last semester with classes and I’m excited to be done :)
  7. I’m also excited for May because I’ll be going to the Rochester Teen Book Festival.

And that’s it about me! Now be sure to go visit my nominees, because they’re all awesome bloggers :)

I’m on Literally too! Though I haven’t really played around with it, I am kinda waiting for a mobile app because I think that will encourage me to really visit and maintain it.

And wow, reading physics books should definitely counteract any reality show damage! :) Congrats on the award!

    • I’m liking Literally a lot better now that they’ve made it so you can update for past dates. It makes it much easier for me to keep up with it because I can forget to update sometimes and still come back to it :)

Aww thanks Katie! I’m not actually sure if Kelley, Leanne, and I have discussed blog awards and if we accept them on our new blog, but I’ll have to let them know you nominated us for this one. So kind <3

Haha, love your seven facts. I don't like the idea of working out in a class because I'm too self-conscious (which is ridiculous, I know). I'm more of the workout-video-at-home type. Oh, and I have no problem admitting I love watching reality TV shows – it's one of the things I miss about being back home! Of course, I never read any really good nonfiction to save my brain cells. Eek! Oh oh oh, and one more reason you should love May? It's my birthday! haha. (I'm not sure why that would matter, but of course I had to share ;) )

    Thanks again Katie!

    • No worries if you don’t accept them. I know a lot of people don’t and generally just use awards as a chance to say nice things about bloggers I like, whether or not they’ll pass the award on.

I would work out at home just because it’s easier if I could find a video I liked as much as my classes :) I am excited because it’s your birthday!

Congrats! And thanks so much for the nomination :) I’m usually really bad about writing up “acceptance” posts, but this one seems blessedly simple and straightforward — I will try not to drop the ball!

    • Don’t worry if it takes you a while to get to it or if you decide not to do a post. I took quite a while to get my post up myself :)

Congrats, Katie!! And thanks for the nomination! Aww, I even got a smiley :D
Haha, I can’t bear to watch reality shows (except for Project Runway which I LOVE), but I too have a few “guilty pleasure” tv shows I follow, like The Vampire Diaries or Teen Wolf.

I’m not really doing award posts anymore (+ I think I’ve already done this one…) but I really appreciate you thinking of me and my blog <3

    • You’re welcome :) I like Project Runway too! I’ve also gotten into America’s Next Top Model and the Bachelor.

Don’t worry about doing the post! I know a lot of people won’t pass awards on, but it’s a nice chance to recognize blogs like yours that I love :)

Yay yoga! Ehhh physics… haha. And woohoo, I’m glad you’ll be done with classes soon! I can’t wait to be free from classes next year – seriously don’t know how I did it in undergrad. And thanks for introducing some new-to-me bloggers, can’t wait to visit their blogs. :)
