I’m excited to re-read this trilogy! Especially since I picked up this beautiful, surprisingly slim anthology that includes all three book. Sign-ups are going on hereย and are hosted by Pages Unboundย and Chasm of Books.
I’m also excited to read Emma for the first time. It should be fun! We’ll be discussing chapters 1-9 on January 18th, so it’s not too late to join. Allison at The Cheap Reader is hosting and sign-ups are here.

Monuments Men Read-a-long
Last but not least, Jennifer at Bookalicious Mama and I are hosting a Monuments Men read-a-long. We’re discussing Part 1 at the end of the week and you can still sign up here.

I’ve recently finished reading The Monuments Men, so I won’t be participating in the readalong. It’s such a great idea, though. I’m eager to find out what you think about it!
Have fun!
DoingDewey
I hope you enjoyed it as much as I am, because I’m liking it a lot. It seems like very well done narrative non-fiction to me ๐
Charlie
Emma is a brilliant book, you’ll likely find this an easy readlong to complete ๐
DoingDewey
Wonderful! With all these read-a-longs, an easy read would definitely help me keep on schedule ๐ And I’m glad to hear that you like Emma. I love S&S and P&P but was not so impressed with Mansfield Park, so I’m hoping Emma is more enjoyable.
Wendy @ Wensend
Woah, I love the idea of the LOTR-readalong, but I have so many things going on this month I’m not sure if I can do it. Maybe I’ll just start reading and try to catch up ๐
DoingDewey
I’m probably going to be playing catch up on this one a bit myself, but I also really loved the idea and just couldn’t pass it up. I don’t re-read books very often, but I love LOTR and thought it was time to revisit it ๐
C.J. @ ebookclassics
Amazing! All of these read-a-longs look like fun and I’d join you if I wasn’t already committed to reading Paradise Lost. I think you will find Emma a good book. Have you read any of Jane Austen’s other books?
DoingDewey
Haha, there are just so many read-a-longs this month. I think we must all be feeling motivated by the new year ๐ I’ve read P&P, recently re-read S&S, and also just read Mansfield Park for the first time. I loved the first two, but was not especially impressed by Mansfield Park.

Wow three read a longs at one time? Great selections though, enjoy ๐
DoingDewey
Haha, yeah, this may be a bad idea, but I figure worst case scenario, I can always catch up on the LOTR read-a-long in February ๐
Ciska @ Ciska's Book Chest
Good luck with all your read alongs. I hope you will enjoy the books!
DoingDewey
Thanks Ciska! Me too ๐
Briana
Thanks for sharing our read-along! These all look great, though!
DoingDewey
No problem! I’m excited to join in ๐
Katie @ Words for Worms
Readalongs are a great way to tackle chunksters and classics! I failed at LOTR after finishing The Fellowship of the Ring- my hat’s off to you!
DoingDewey
I agree! The motivation of getting certain bits done in time to talk to people about the book can be very helpful ๐
Andi @ Estella's Revenge
Good stuff! I hope you enjoy Emma as much as I did! I had a crush on the film adaptation in high school and read the actual novel later. <3
DoingDewey
Thanks! So far, I’m liking it a lot. Emma the person I’m not sure about yet, but I think I’ll enjoy the book ๐
Rebecca @ Love at First Book
Good luck with all of the read-a-longs!!!!
DoingDewey
Thanks! I think I might need it ๐
