Bout of Books 11

August 17, 2014 Blogger Events 4

Bout of BooksBout of Books 11 starts tomorrow and I’m excited to be joining in! As usual, I’ll just try to read as much as possible, particularly making an effort to cut out TV. I’ll also be tracking the time I spend reading and the number of pages I make it through here. I also hope to participate in at least two of the challenges being hosted throughout the week. For those of you unfamiliar with Bout of Books, I’d like to highly recommend it and share the official blurb with you here:
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 18th and runs through Sunday, August 24th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 11 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog.
Happy reading all!

Bout of Books Check-Up

August 20, 2013 Blogger Events 13

BoB8.0-200x200This week I’m participating in the Bout of Books read-a-thon. My goal is to read more than usual, mostly by eliminating the TV watching I do. I’m also actually looking forward to a 4.5 hour bus ride I’m taking into NYC this weekend (and the 4.5 hours back!) as a prefect time to fit in some extra reading. In the meantime, I’ll be up-dating this post every day with my the amount of reading I managed to fit in the day before. I hope everyone else participating is having a lot of fun and making great progress on their goals 🙂 Read more »

Monday Musings About Read-a-Thons

August 19, 2013 Monday Musings 29

Musing Mondays asks you to muse about one of the following each week…

• Describe one of your reading habits.
• Tell us what book(s) you recently bought for yourself or someone else, and why you chose that/those book(s).
• Tell us what you’re reading right now — what you think of it, so far; why you chose it; what you are (or, aren’t) enjoying it.
• Do you have a bookish rant? Something about books or reading (or the industry) that gets your ire up? Share it with us!
• Instead of the above questions, maybe you just want to ramble on about something else pertaining to books — let’s hear it, then!

Today is the first day of Bout of Books! Woo! So for my musing today I’m thinking about my goals for this delightfully laid back read-a-thon and would love to hear about yours. Read more »
