Nonfiction Friday is a link-up where you can find all of the awesome nonfiction happenings of the week.
- This list from World Magazine has some delightful nonfiction recommendations for young readers.
- I don’t think these tips for reading nonfiction will live up to the promise of letting you read more quickly and retain more, but I do still like some of the ideas!
- I really like when lists like this one, of must-read nonfiction coming out in March, include both books I’m already excited about and ones I’ve not yet heard of.
- Nonfiction new releases I’m looking forward to in the next week include:
- The Monsanto Papers: Deadly Secrets, Corporate Corruption, and One Man’s Search for Justice
- The Dark Queens: The Bloody Rivalry that Forged the Medieval World
- Ms. Adventure: My Wild Explorations in Science, Lava, and Life
- Women in White Coats: How the First Women Doctors Changed the World of Medicine
- But You’re Still So Young: How Thirtysomethings Are Redefining Adulthood

I want to read Women in White Coats! Remember sounds really interesting too. I read an ARC of The Soul of a Woman (from the upcoming March titles list) and it was absolutely beautiful, a really warm and comforting (but not saccharine) book for the present moment.

I cannot pass on nonfiction about women in science!
I have to confess that I’ve been put off Allende’s fiction by the covers and my disinterest has carried over to her fiction. Definitely a prejudice I should try to overcome 🙂
