Whoa, you haven’t read one single piece of graphic nonfiction? Surely that can’t be true! Not even Maus or Persepolis? I’m so sad for you! You have to read those two! You have to read Blankets by Craig Thompson! You have to read March!

I know! I live a sad life 😛 I have read one or two graphic novels because I felt I should try them. However, I didn’t enjoy the format and I’ve decided it’s not like reading about diverse characters – I don’t see the value in reading books in different formats just for the sake of doing it. However, there are some specific graphic nonfiction books that I’ve heard recommended so highly (mostly the ones you mention) that I do think I should get to them eventually. You’ve prompted me to at least start by putting a hold on Persepolis just now 🙂

“that is, nonfiction in comic book form, not violent nonfiction.” This made me laugh. I haven’t read any graphic nonfiction either, but I should. Thanks for the links!
