Happy May everyone! Today is the first day of our Just Mercy read-along and if I’m honest, I’m a little nervous that I’ll find it as tough and lacking in answers as Missoula. I’m sure even if that’s the case it will be worthwhile which should make for some good discussion. When you’re ready to jump into the discussion, the google doc is open. Here’s our schedule for this month and the poll for next month’s pick:
May 1st-14th: Read Intro – Chapter 8
May 10th – Intro – Chapter 8 Discussion Questions Posted
May 15th-31st – Read Chapter 9 – Postscript
May 21st – Chapter 9 – Postscript Discussion Questions Posted

I’ve got the book, but I’m not sure I’ll get to read it. I’m feeling over-committed right now. Hope to join in again towards the end of the month.

I understand! I hope you’re able to get to it eventually, because I’m enjoying it a lot so far 🙂

Ooo, I admit I totally forgot about your nonfiction bookclub this month! I just bought the book even though I promised myself to focus on mental health this month. I’m a little behind, though. Hopefully I’ll catch up by the time we have our first-half-of-the-book discussion!

That would be great! Either way, I hope you pick this up. Parts of it are making just as angry as Missoula, but I’m still finding it more compulsively readable.

I read this some time ago, but I left some comments on the Google Doc just now. I’ll surely be reading it again sometime — and continuing to recommend it to others.
