September Nonfiction Book Club Read-Along!

August 25, 2015 Blogger Events 13

By a margin of only one vote, our September read-along will be The Sixth Extinction! Given the close vote though, you can bet that Bad Feminist will show back up on next month’s poll. We’ll have a google doc discussion and discussion questions for our The Sixth Extinction read-along. There will also be a twitter chat at the end if people are interested. In the meantime, feel free to chat on twitter using the hashtag #NFBookClub. I’ve included a linky for sign-ups below the schedule which is open through September 26th. If you decide to join in any time before then, please add your sign-up post there.

I didn’t get very far with Packing For Mars – maybe I’ll do better with this one. It’s more my kind of thing, so that’s helpful!

I had to put Packing for Mars aside as well. Not that I didn’t enjoy it, it was just that real life interfered and I desperately needed a comfort read. I’m sure I will pick it up again at some point. But I am really looking forward to The Sixth Extinction!

This group is good for pushing me to read books that might not otherwise float to the top of my list. And it’s going to be a good follow-up to Packing for Mars, which to me ended up being about sustainability. Looking forward to another great discussion.

I do have to put in a plug for my suggestion that was outvoted (Is that a Fish in Your Ear?) — I just finished it and it was excellent. Anyone who is interested in language at all should definitely read it!

I’ll add Is That A Fish In Your Ear to my to-read list on goodreads now 🙂 I hope this one ends up being just as fun a read as Packing For Mars! It’s definitely helping me keep up my momentum on nonfiction reading too.

I’m glad you think so! I’m always looking for more nonfiction bloggers and I’m hoping to meet and interact with people more through these read-alongs 🙂
