Nonfiction Friday is a link-up where you can find all of the awesome nonfiction happenings of the week. Be sure to link-up your nonfiction posts too!
- Out of Bill Gates’ summer reading list, I’m most interested in On Immunity, but there were other books that surprised me more!
- I loved this list of nonfiction books about bold women.
- Apparently the New York Times best seller list doesn’t strictly follow the numbers, allowing them to play favorites. I’m curious how this affects the diversity of the list!
- Another great list written by Kim Ukura for Book Riot, recommending nonfiction for fans of zombie stories.
- Interesting books coming out in the next week include:
- Fat-Talk Nation: The Human Costs of America’s War on Fat
- Parliamentary Pioneers: Labour Women MPs 1918-1945
- Single Digits: In Praise of Small Numbers
- Naked at Lunch: A Reluctant Nudist’s Adventures in the Clothing-Optional World
- A Life of Lies and Spies: Tales of a CIA Covert Ops Polygraph Interrogator

That’s an interesting article about the NYT list. I recently checked out Gates’ blog – very interesting too. Thanks for sharing your links.

I thought the NYT thing was really interesting too! I’ve always assumed that the best seller list was completely objective.

I should probably bump On Immunity up my TBREventually list. It *is* a subject I’m interested in and it’s been all over the internet, but I haven’t felt the burning need yet.
How to Lie with Statistics is a book I think everyone should read. It’s short and handy, but yes, a bit outdated in its examples.

Personally, I do not understand people who are anti-vaccine and it sounds like this book could help me get where they’re coming from.
This also sounds like a very informative book! I work with statistics a lot and I think this could be a great way to learn things not to do.

This is my first time here so forgive me if I botch the rules. Naked at Lunch sounds like an intriguing premise, especially because it sounds like the ‘creative’ non-fiction I prefer to read.
I write two non-fiction blogs; one for bookish movie fans I call Chapter1-Take1 where I write daily about movies based on books. Here’s today’s post http://bit.ly/1HAa5X3
The other is my memoir site.

There aren’t really any rules, but you’re welcome to share as many nonfiction book reviews or giveaways as you like in the link-up every week 🙂 Thanks for stopping by and sharing your blogs!
guiltless reading
I haven’t been getting much non-fiction reading in lately. There’s a lot to follow-up in your post. I popped over briefly to Bill Gates’ blog and already I see that going through that post is probably going to cost me an afternoon (ha!).
A non-fiction list for zombie lovers? How is that possible? 😉
I hope you’re enjoying the weekend …

I wish I could get to all the great books coming out soon myself, but I’m sure I won’t!
I thought the nonfiction for zombie lovers list was very creative 🙂
I have book club tomorrow, so I’m sure it’s going to be a good weekend! I hope you’re enjoying the weekend too.
