Nonfiction November Read-Alongs!

Well folks, the votes are in and it was a close one! So close in fact, that we thought it would be fun to do read-alongs of the top two books, since both got a lot of votes. I was most excited for Cleopatra, so I’ll be hosting this read-along with the lovely Becca from I’m Lost In Books. Kim (Sophisticated Dorkiness) and Leslie (Regular Ruminations) were both most excited about The Restless Sleep, so they’ll be hosting that read-along.

Since we know you’re all busy people, we’re keeping this low key. To participate in Nonfiction Novemeber, you can do both of these read-alongs or just one or neither. The discussion posts and link-ups for nonfiction reviews give you lots of ways to join in! The read-along discussion and link-up will happen on November 19th, so that we’re done before everyone goes on break for Thanksgiving. In the meantime, feel free to chat on Twitter as you read, using the hashtag #NonFicNov. I think reading Cleopatra is going to be a ton of fun and can’t wait to get started!

I am looking forward to reading Cleopatra. In fact, I have several sentences that allude to her in my novel. The queen went to Ashkelon to raise an army against her brother, and Mark Antony joined her in that city. A good deal of the action in my book takes place on Ashkelon’s coast and a few of my characters wander among the Egyptian ruins that are of huge archeological interest.

That works out well! I haven’t gotten my copy yet, but I’ve been interested in Ancient Egypt and Rome since I was a little, so I’m sure I’ll enjoy this one. I’m so glad you’re planning on joining in! 🙂

I actually still need to do that too! Fortunately, they’re a little bit older so it looks like I won’t have any trouble getting my hands on a copy 🙂

Cleopatra sounds really good but it’s not already on my shelf and I’m trying to be good about that. We’ll see how firm I am about that though. 😉

There isn’t actually a list for non-fiction november, but if you follow any of the hosts on any of our blogs or social media accounts, we’ll definitely be advertising on all channels! We’re currently tossing around the idea of starting the event in October next year, so people can get reading early and share more reviews in November, so you could also just mark your calendar and stop by in October next year to see what we’ve got planned. Either way, we’d love to have you join in 🙂
