Love triangles have definitely gotten old for me. I’ve never really liked them, but now it does seem to be something authors just do because it’s trendy. Such a shame! Otherwise, this was a good read though and I’ve read many glowing reviews, so it’s possible my review shouldn’t scare you off

The annoying love triangale… why do authors insist on throwing those in? It’s like they think its a requirement in young adult fiction but it’s just way to overused. Overall though Defy looks like an interesting read. Great review!

I’ve heard great things about this from other bloggers, but personally, it lost me because of those two problems. I probably should have known better than to pick up yet another love triangle book but my optimism about the plot and world building sucked me in.

I really, really should have known better. I have yet to read a love triangle that I thought improved a book. In The Hunger Games it at least tied into the plot, but in most books I find it a distraction.

It’s too bad this book has such issues! The cover and the premise sounds great, but too many YA books these days focus on the love triangle too much sadly. And if it’s a pointless unhappy ending then I’m really turned off. Great review though!

Books that had a lot of promise until the love triangle showed up… I think I might give this a miss as I’ve read books with that issue one too many times!
