Thanks Shannon I really love reading non-fiction and am always trying to both find other non-fiction readers and inspire more people to become non-fiction readers. I’m really loving Monuments Men so far, so even if you don’t get to until after the movie is out, I suspect it’s worth picking up.

I’m really glad to see you’re featuring non-fiction so frequently! I’m really looking forward to The Monuments Men, though I don’t think I’ll have a chance to read the book before the movie.

That makes complete sense. I’ve often noticed that books such as Malcolm Gladwell’s books which focus on one theme sometimes try too hard to make everything fit that theme. I suppose that’s one of the dangers of an approachable book on science.

“We are our brains” is actually by a Dutch professor, so I read this one already like two years ago. I definitely recommend it to people who know nothing at all about our brains as everything is explained very clearly. I do think some things are thought of in a too easy way (if this formulation makes any sense) to make his point (that everything we are is in our brains), but it’s definitely a read that will make you think

I think reading non-fiction helps me avoid slumps too. By swapping back and forth between fiction and non-fiction, I’m not likely to get burnt out on either

If it turns out to be as fun as Oceans 11, I’ll be thrilled. And I agree, it has that potential. I love that it’s a non-fiction book being turned into a movie too!

Four is pretty good! I always feel like as a non-fiction blogger, I should have read more of the books that make the best-seller or recommended lists, because I’ve often read very few of them.

I’m really excited about Monuments Men. I haven’t read the book, but I saw a trailer last night and it looks really fun. I’m sort of hoping it’s a bit like Oceans 11, except with some historical drama.

I’ve read four of the nonfiction bestsellers — pretty good!

I read a decent amount of non-fiction in 2013, but it’d be nice to up those numbers in 2014. I always enjoy it SO much and nf is a great slump buster for me.
