Non-fiction really doesn't seem to be for everyone. I read a ton of non-fiction and I still need to swap it up with some fiction now and again or I get burnt out on it. If it's every something you'd like to read more of, I'd be happy to recommend some narrative non-fiction that reads like fiction. I really appreciate you offering encouragement even those this meme your cup of tea :)

I could really afford to self-host and do giveaways, so it's not about the money. What's really stopping me at this precise moment is the time to deal with a move and the fear of losing a lot of followers in the move. Do you have any thoughts on those worries from your process of becoming self-hosted (if you weren't always self-hosted)? Hosting this meme and wanting to embed a linky has reminded me all over again of the many reasons I'd like to be self-hosted, so it is still something I'm considering doing.

I am so sad that I couldn't participate on this meme, Katie. For some weird reason, I really couldn't find any gratification when I'm reading non-fiction books. Anyway, I know that this will be a success. I'll just cheer for you.

And re: being self-hosted, I could gush on and on about how awesome it is, Katie. Everything is just so flexible and very efficient. I hope you will continue considering it until such time you don't want to host GAs anymore. Hahahaha.

Good luck! :D

I really liked Nonfiction November too! Although I read fiction because I enjoy it, I think I also read it in part because it's easier to find people to talk to about fiction, Hopefully this meme and Kim and Leslie's event will help us non-fiction lovers start to find each other :)

Thank you! I loved the Nonfiction November event hosted by Kim and Leslie, but this meme is exactly what I need to keep the motivation to go on reading nonfiction.

Great idea! :)

I checked your review and I agree with you that it's very well done. Is there a way to comment on your blog? I don't see one, but may just be being silly :)

I am surprised that more people don't combine non-fiction reading with a hobbyist blog. Perhaps I just haven't looked in the right places. I also loved the Time Traveler's Guide, especially the many details it included. It was a unique way of looking at a historical time period. I haven't read any of the other books on your favorite list though, so I'll have to check them out. Thanks for sharing your link!

I just read her collection of her advice columns, Tiny Beautiful Things, and it made me want to read Wild. it was just so good! Feel free to link up your old posts as well. As long as it's not something you've linked up here before, I think it's fine :)
