Upcoming Bookish Blogging Event

August 16, 2015 Uncategorized 6

BoB-Expert06It’s that time of year again! I always love participating in Bout of Books and I’m excited to try and do some extra reading in the next week. As usual, my goal is just to spend time reading that I wouldn’t usually, probably cutting back on gaming and TV time. I’m also looking forward to participating in the daily challenges. I’m also participating as a Bout of Books expert for the first time, so I’ll be answering questions and spending extra time on supportive comments this time around. Feel free to ask me any questions you have about the event. This Bout of Books runs from August 17th to August 23rd and you can sign up here until the end of the day on the 18th.

BeatHeatRATbutton3 (1)I’m also going to be doing my best to join the Beat the Heat Readathon starting right after Bout of Books. My wedding is actually on the last day of this read-a-thon, on September 6th, so my goal is just to do some reading during these two weeks! I think some reading before bed every night would be a nice habit to hold on to during a busy time in my life. You must sign up here by August 28th to be eligible for the associated giveaway, but can still join in later.

I didn’t realize you’re getting married!! Congratulations!! I’m impressed with how much you’re keeping up with the book blog this close to the wedding ^_^

Thanks Amanda! It’s helped that I’ve been between projects at grad school, but I’ve got the data to get started now and also start TAing this week, so it’s possible things will get quieter around here 🙂

I’d recommend it! I always have fun with read-a-thons. The 24 hour ones are a great excuse to do nothing but read for a day and the week long ones are a laid back chance to record your reading and interact with other bloggers. My wedding is now less than two weeks out and I’m excited! 🙂
