2015Reading Challenges

I’m a little behind on posting this, but I’m excited to be signing up for some great challenges this year! I’ve chosen a few challenges which are genres I read a lot of (nonfiction, historical fiction), but most represent categories I’d really like to read more of.  I’m also looking forward to trying out the Reading Challenge tracker plug-in from Creative Whim to track my challenges more easily this year. The challenges I’ll be joining are:

It’s the Creative Whim plug-in! I was thinking of doing a lot fewer challenges this year, because I didn’t do a great job tracking them last year, but I’m hoping the plug-in will help me do a better job this year.

I’ve thought about not doing challenges because until now I haven’t done a great job using challenges to guide my reading. This year, I’m hoping to actually use my challenges to motivate me to diversify my reading and if I don’t, I’ll probably stop doing them too.

Haha, yeah, I’m sure I’ll get burnt out eventually, but I’m not there yet. I can’t help signing up for a bunch every year 🙂

Thanks Kim! I did a decent job finishing challenges last year, but that’s because I signed up for challenges that match what I already read. This year, I’d like to actually use my challenges to guide my reading and only time will show how well that will go!

Holy moly, that’s a lot of challenges you’ve committed yourself to! But I have no doubt you could complete them all. And I really love that the challenges you’ve chosen will stretch yourself as a reader. Pretty sure if it had been me that had signed up for this many challenges, they all would have been within my comfort zone, easily accomplished heh.

Last year I did sign up for a lot of challenges within my comfort zone and I found that I finished a lot of them without even thinking about them. That didn’t seem like the right way to do challenges, so I thought I’d try something a bit different this year, where I hopefully actually let my challenges guide my reading. I’ve no idea yet if it will work or not!

Oops, thanks Cayce! I made the post but meant to add my link afterwards and forgot. I’ll have to do that tonight.
