Indie Books You’ve Got To Read Giveaway

I don’t even know where to start with this post, I have so many exciting things to put in it. First, Doing Dewey is two years old! As of the 8th actually, but who’s counting? Not me, obviously :) I also just hit 250 wordpress followers give or take a few followers on feedreaders and the like.  I think that means a big thank you is in order! And also another minion gif. So thank you all, everyone who has followed, commented, and generally made blogging such a fun experience.

I’ve also been wanting to say for a while how thrilled I’ve been with my experience interacting with indie authors. I know some people have had some rotten experiences, but my worst experiences have been ending up with a typo-riddled book. The books I talk about below are at the opposite end of the spectrum from those. They’re well written and they remind me of some very popular books, so I dream about them making it big one day. And just so you know I put my money where my mouth is… despite getting eARCs of these books, I’ve bought them all in paperback. Not only that, I want you to have them too! So check out the giveaway at the end of the post where three lucky readers will get to choose either one of these books in paperback or three as ebooks.

I don’t understand, you posted this today, but the rafflecopter seems to go to a previous giveaway which is over and closed…

Congrats, Katie! It’s both awesome and not so when you find a great indie book – awesome because it just is, not so because you know that often they won’t get much publicity. I’m with you on wanting to promote them :) I didn’t know Hollow’s End was an indie and I like that.

Yes, exactly! I would love to see the books above really make it big. They’re great books and the authors have also all been really great people to work with. Sadly, I know I nearly never go out a buy an indie book someone else recommends, not when I can get the big name books people recommend from the library for free. Since I realized that, I’ve decided that I’d like to do a little more for these authors I love – occasional giveaways as well as lots of promotion – because I really want them to keep writing :)
